The current, dated bungalow sits on a superb site next to the coast path with panoramic views over the Bristol Channel. The client wanted to transform it into a contemporary family home making the most of the views and it's semi-woodland setting. The ground floor is extended to create a large open plan living space with a pop-out viewing area angled to look out to sea. The existing bungalow is hidden in a dip, this allowed us to add an additional floor over part of the plan without impacting greatly on the neighbouring buildings. Despite this, the application encountered a number of local objections to which we were able to respond, resulting in planning approval.
